Yoga is an ancient system of developing the body and mind.  The word “yoga” means “union”, connection, of body, breath, and mind.  Yoga helps develop good health, strength, and flexibility so as to free the mind.  When our bodies are vibrant and open-free aches and pains and illness-we have greater mental clarity and emotional freedom.

What is FLOW?
Flow or Vinyasa Flow is one of the most practiced class.  Vinyasa is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” In other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique is sometimes also called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance.  This style allows for a lot of variety, but will almost certainly include Sun Salutations. If your yoga class schedule lists a Flow class, expect movement, not just stretching. Whether the class is fast or slow, includes chanting, or is very alignment-oriented will depend on the individual teacher.  Flow's strength is in its diversity. If you enjoy having things a little loose and unpredictable and like to move, it is probably right for you.

What is HOT?
Hot Yoga is a series of 26 yoga poses done in a heated room. The room is usually maintained at a temperature of 38°C . As you can imagine, a vigorous yoga session at this temperature promotes profuse sweating which rids the body of toxins. It also makes the body very warm, and therefore more flexible. Students tend to wear very little clothing due to the heat and sweat.  Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after class so you don't get dehydrated.

Ashtanga means "eight limbs" in Sanskrit, which refers to the eight limbs of yoga.  Developed by K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga is physically demanding. Participants move through a series of flows, jumping from one posture to another in order to build strength, flexibility and stamina.  It is a system based on six series of increasing difficulty.
